WINNING THE CHAMPIONSHIP--BLOWN MOTOR!!!
Matt McCall
came into the series final race with a 47 points lead. It would require the
50 car to get a miracle to win the championship. When the 50 car
qualified 8th, it was over as the 50 car would have to finish 2nd and Matt
finish 19th. Now as the race was getting going it was obvious Matt had a car
that could win the race. The excitement came when the 50 car had a flat and
parked his car and
gave up. Then 8 laps later, the unthinkable happened to the most winning car in the 2009 UARA series
- the "I DIG PIGS" Charlie Long Power plant BLEW and Matt was done.
As this was happening the 50 got back in his car to continue the race,
but to his dismay he also blew his motor The
2009 UARA Championship was won only after a nail biting nite. Matt has proven to be the best
Late Model driver to ever
sit behind the wheel
Special thanks to all the crews who worked on the "Pig" and the "Rocket" and
the Car owners Jerry Moody and Wendell Davis and Tom Pistone for a
Championship year!!
11/7/09..Qualified 3rd...Finished 3rd
Now the race was pretty boring after the
start and they all wrecked each other. Matt and his team would choose to ride behind the 28 and 50 for a
hundred or so laps as there were 10 or more cautious and 2 or 3 red flags. Matt thought he could have pushed to
the front, but with the officials watching the 23 car to make sure he 'did
it right", the team decided to stay 3rd and lose only 6 points for the day
and leave without giving UARA any reason to Black Flag him. It seems
everyone has a story about what Matt and his dad have said, but they don't
ask them what was said..."Nothing". The truth is
Matt was racing hard. Matt has showed why he is the best to ever
wheel a late model. Matt wants to race and be better at what ever it takes
to win and set track records.

and his band of "outlaws" from the Performancenter spent lots of time trying
to get McCall's missile to go left better then anyone. It was a make
it or break race after only having an 18 point lead, and all were wondering
if the 23 could win again after ruling the field in "Dwight Huffman" earlier
this year. Once again Matt would get an early draw and go out on a
cold track. The results were an 8th place starting spot. The
only car Matt was racing was the 50 car for the points and it got
interesting. Only 54 laps in Matt was working his way to the front when he
attempted to pass the 50 and to his surprise he got right reared as the 29
car tagged the 50 car as they were coming out of turn 2.
You be the judge as a picture is worth a 1000 words. It is what happen next
that surprised Matt and everyone else. The 50 car would try to run over
Matt on the re-start.
Then he tried again, but missed and was given the Black
Flag for rough driving. Was it rough driving or unsportsmanlike
conduct? After the race, the Performancenter "Outlaws" would find rear-end
damage and pushed over causing the car to be ill handling. Matt was
not as upset as his dad but both continue to act as professionals.
Just chasing a Dream of his second Championship with one of the Best Late
Model touring series in the country. Matt would like to get Jerry and
Wendell their first UARA Championship with their Mighty "I Dig Pigs" Machine
Just two races left and with God's will and guidance, Matt will make his
dream come true!!!

Matt McCall
and the "outlaws" from the Performancenter had spent many hours getting the
McCall Missile ready to do battle with the largest and best group of late
model racers in the country. In just 22 laps the McCall Missile had
moved up 5 spots and was on schedule to make the top ten by half way, but a
little thing called an oil return line would burn into and send the
Performancenter Hot Rod to the pits. It was over and everyone was in shock
that Matt would be taken out of a race he was determine to win after
finishing third last year.
Matt watching after a burnt oil line put him in the pits!!! Maybe Next
Year!!!

9/15/09...Qualified 7th..3rd car out
Matt
McCall would have to go out early again
this week in the "Pig Rig". Matt has pushed the button on the computer
and gotten an early draw for the last 4 weeks going out first, second
or third. Matt needs to buy a lottery ticket, he's been real lucky
with the computer. Matt would ride for the first 75 laps and try to save the
tires on the Moody pig. Then as he was finally running second, the leader seemed to pinch Matt
down and when he could get a better run off the corner the 51 would lose the momentum to pass.
This went on for some 30 laps and on the final lap when Matt and the Pig
would be a little Moody going into
the corner. The leader would come down on Matt's car and lose control and
finally spin out and Matt would take the checker. But, UARA has a rule
that states, No one can advance on the last lap if the car spins out. So
Matt "tiny tap" McCall would be scored 10th due to there is no discussion
about the final call. The leader was so loose he spun himself out. It
happens. Tap and spin. There is no appeal board to go to as
Kerry makes the call and you have to trust his decision. But, Matt"
tiny tap " McCall
was told that if it would have happened on any lap but the last, it could have
been considered a "Racing Incident". That's a rule that needs to be reviewed and
more than one person should have to review the event. Check it out on
www.race22.com the Dillon Race
video and you decide how it
should have ended.

8/15/09..Qualified 4th Ace and 8th at
Myrtle Beach--early draw?
Matt is "" McCall
and both Teams of the "I dig pigs" and outlaw of the performancenter
and his band warriors have worked hard to help Matt with his second Championship.
Giving so much of their time to help Matt keep the Performancenter and "Pig
Rig" up front. But, for the last two events tires have leaked down and
a set-up issues at the beach. It was the right front tire leaking down at Ace Motor Speedway
causing the performancenter to drop more points needed to win. Then with a
UARA cool beach trip with the ocean and beauty of the area. Third quickest
on Friday and second quickest on race day, but then in qualifying the car
was too tight and that's speed. So the "I Dig Pig would have to start
8th which it has been years since Matt would be this deep in the field.
Then while riding on the top groove in the "PIG" for 75 laps
hoping to move forward after everyone burned up their tires, how did that
go, not to good, so Matt would baby the car to a 10th place finish. The teams always
seem to Qualify in the top 5, but not this race. The next race with the
performancenter Chevy will be at Newport, Lady Luck has got to shine on the 23
once again as we all know a good car is not all it takes to win. One must prepare to
win and then put it in a position to win enough and you will win. This is
when the Championship team digs deep to get the most out of every race and
his car and then never Give-UP. KAIZEN !

Hudson, NC(July 19, 2009) -- Matt McCall is having a dream season ... He has
always been one of the best in the business, but so far in 2009 he has
downright killed the competition.
Coming into Friday he had 3 wins in UARA competition and the veteran was
coming off the biggest win of his career in the Dwight Huffman Memorial just
six days earlier. In that race McCall qualified on the outside pole, then he
started dead last to take a "come from the rear" challenge that doubled the
$7,007.00 winners purse and three hours later came away with all of $14,014.
In the first Tri-County event this year, he was leading when he had
electrical problems under caution, taking him out of contention. This night
was clear sailing and now McCall is a 4-time winner in UARA competition for
2009 and doesn't look to be slowing down anytime soon.
McCall had won the race a week ago in the his Pistone LTO house car, but
this weekend he was once again behind the wheel of the #51 ... the "Pig Rig"
Ford. As usual it was fast, putting it outside the front row, but that would
be the lowest he would run all night. He couldn't beat Kyle Grissom, who has
been strong at every event, only to have bad luck along the way, most of the
time being a cut tire.

Matt "" McCall
went to his home track to take the challenge of qualifying in the top 7 and
then taking the chance of going to the rear of the field and doubling the purse of
$7,007.00 to $14,014.00 to win. Matt would setup the
Performancenter LTO and put the LTO on the outside Pole. The pole
winner said NO! NO! NO! no way as that's a long way back to the front in a
34 car field of NASCAR Hickory greats - including Dennis Setzer, Shane Huffman,
Clayton Rogers, Andy Loden, Greg Marlow, Jamie Yelton, Andy Mercer,
Jamey Caudill, Steven Wallace. Matt was asked if he would like to take a
chance on the $14,014.00 total purse for starting last on the field of the best
of the best in late models on the East Coast. Matt McCall
said "Why Not? I have a few laps here." The night would start quietly
as the leaders were the show and MX3 would work his way like a true Samurai
Warrior. Matt would show respect for each car he passed, but cut down the
field one car at a time with his Performancenter sword prepare by the
Samurai outlaws. Outlaw and his small band of warriors worked with Matt on
the 23 machine to get in winning form. Tom Vigue of 3V Performance
Motors gave Matt plenty of steam to hold off those legal Crate motors and
the not so legal crate motors all thru the race. Matt would not even
put a mark on the LTO till it came time to race the quickest car during the
race which was being piloted by the Nationwide Series regular Steven
Wallace. Matt and Steven would put on a show for the fans with the
beating and banging for the MONEY. Steven wanted the $7,000.00 and
Matt wanted the $14,014.00 and neither would give an inch. Matt
would move up to the high side he had found during his time on the track
back in 2004 when he ruled the Hickory Bull Ring and won the Championship.
This proved to be the place to be as Matt pulled away from the 66 metal
warrior and made his way to that big check. Matt who took the
Randolphs Billiards " Renegade Challenge" would win the second annual Dwight
Huffman Memorial race. Matt would make history with this win as to take the
challenge and pass everyone in the field of awesome Nascar great drivers. This makes a statement of his patience and Martial Arts training and desire
to be the best in the seat of any race car as he went from 211 *F to 212 *F
and steam is the results of one more degree. Matt always gives just a little
more and the results are win after win...The difference is inches and inches
give you wins...Just one more win makes history.
Matt then took his 3V Performance
(Special thanks to Tom Vigue for his support and awesome motors)
prepared motor
home in a box as they need to inspect the head and a few other parts .
All was good and then a final look at the LTO was also good and the Tech
staff lead by HMS head Technical Director Paul Deyo would give
the final OK and away

McCall and the performancenter Outlaws would
finally after months of bad luck get a clean sweep win. It was a Dominate
win from the pole to the checker flag. This was the type of race you can
only hope for as a race team. The team spent some 3 hours in Tech as the
UARA officials looked over the intake, carb, head, lifters and Bore and
stroke and all is well as the heads had plenty of cc left to do. Check-out

In
the hills of Coeburn Virginia is a lovely racetrack
called Lonesome Pine Raceway.
It is at said raceway
that Matt McCall once again showed the style that won
him the UARA championship in 2005.
McCall and his team claimed their third UARA victory of
2009, just two shy of his 2005 season record.
McCall took the Sunoco Pole at a 16.368 time followed by
Brandon McReynolds on the KLB Race Cars & Parts outside
pole at 16.394. The field is set and it becomes a race
against Mother Nature as clouds are hanging heavy over
the speedway.
When
the green flag dropped McCall took to the point and the
chase was on from there.
The train begins with McCall
being the engineer followed by McReynolds, Richard
Boswell II, Jamey Caudill, Paddy Rodenbeck, Brennan
Poole, Garrett Campbell, Kyle Grissom, Jake Crum and
Coleman Pressley.
By lap four Boswell has passed
McReynolds, Rodenbeck passes Caudill, Crum passes
Campbell and Grissom. Next lap down Grissom passes
Campbell. The action is set and it’s on from there.
Lap seven its Coleman Pressley passing Campbell.

Matt and the performancenter would
struggle with their Hot-Rod at Matt's home track. It was a long night
and with a leaking tire it seem like it would never ended. This was a night
all racers hate to have when most everything with wrong. But, the wheel
master would drive to second and hang around till the last cautions with 24
to go. That was the last straw for the night with a leaking tire and
put the LTO performancenter in the P3 for this UARA event and the only good
thing about night would be Matt would maintain the points lead and the 3V
performance engine was SOOOOOOOOO Strong it had to carry the load for the
night . Thanks to Tom vique

6/6/09--Qualified POLE
McCall Wins the
Circle Wheel 150 at Orange County Speedway
Matt McCall has done something that
hasn’t been done since 2006. McCall claimed a second UARA season
victory before the half way point of the season. McCall did so in
his former championship style. He claimed the Sunoco Pole at 14.300
followed by Paddy Rodenbeck with the KLB Race Cars & Parts outside
pole of 14.415. McCall took the lead on lap one and never gave it
up. McCall’s run was without challenges throughout the night.
The
"I DIG PIGS" headed up by Wendell and Jerry was to tough to handle.
The Team had the Machine
on the rail. Racers know you do not have a night like this,
but every once in a while. But, wins like this only come after
the Team put the "HOG" in shape to go the distance. It was a great
night and even after the heads came off and all was well, the Team
dreams they could only hope for another night like this...!!!

content to ride. The

5/22/09-Qualified Outside Pole!
Matt and the performancenter prepared LTO was on a rail
after qualified outside pole. The Track record holder "Matt ""
McCall would take the lead on lap one. Then it look like Matt would drive
off into the sunset, but then it happens, the thing all drivers
fear...CUTS-OFF!!! What a heart breaker for the current points leader,
force to return to the pits and the crew and lots of friends would try to
get the LTO back on the track. It took 21 laps to get it going, wiring
problem in the dash, still today we do not know what this problem came from.
The "Denver Marine/Performancenter" was rewired this week and only track
time will tell this weekend at Dillon. Not a good race for the
Performancenter/Denver Marine LTO and hopefully Matt will be trouble free
this weekend at Dillon. The Team spent a lot of time and money to fix
the problem, time will tell and as all racers know, you are only as good as
your equipment.

4/25/09 Qualified Outside Pole!!
Matt and the "I Dig Pigs" made a trip to Concord with
the UARA and for Matt this was his first time on the Track. How did it go?
Great! Put the Powerful Pig on the outside pole with the 5 machine of Magnum
who Matt helps and builds shocks for on the pole. But a shifter problem spoiled his night.
Magnum is a former Track Champion. Matt and the Pigs had a flat
before qualifying and had to put a used tire on to race which created
a stagger problem with the tires. Matt would deal with his own problem with
a constant loose car off the corners and hold on to bring the powerful Pig
home in the P2. Not the best of night Matt and the Team expected
to have and as anybody who races should always expect to win. The cars
are so close and the slightest miss calculations on a set-up will result in
a night of pain. But Matt and the "I Dig Pigs" will go back to work and find
out what happen and FIX-IT.

Matt
put the
"I DIG PIGS" on the pole and with a
blistering 25:067 set a new track
record for the Rock at Rockingham Speedway.
But lady luck broke a Shock mount and they have to fix it as with speeds in
excess of 140 in a late model..it could be bad. So this means the pig will
have to make his way to victory lane by the long road...shot-gun on the
field. But with a car that was 2.5 tents faster, it should be a show.
..More to Come!!!
It was a great race and it is true the Fastest car may
not win. That was the case for the "I DIG PIGS" machine as Matt started 23rd
out of 32 and would move to the 6th spot in 42 laps and then the doom of
gloom would strike.."the caution party" . It seem every time Matt and his
"PIG" got on a rail and get a run on the top 5..BAM!! caution
!!!Caution!!!Caution!!! and then GREEN! WHITE!!CHECKER!!!BAM Race over!!. So
the pig team would take the Rocket home to reload and prepare for the Next

4/11/09 Qualified on the Pole
Matt
got an
opportunity to race one of
Penske
Sprint Cup Driver David Stremme's Super Late
Model at Hickory. Matt worked with David King and David Stremme to
dial in his Super Late Model Rocket to be the only Super Late Model out of
48 cars to qualify in the 14's. Matt pulled the trigger and put down a
14:932 to capture his first Super Late Model Pole. This was Matt's first
time in a Super Late Model and he went to work to make it the best he could.
When the rag dropped after a pill pulling, Matt started 6th on the
outside and then was shuffled back to 8th.From there he would go to work to
move the # 35 machine to 6th and every caution move closer to victory.
But with 50 laps to go a lower control arm would break and cut a tire down.
Matt pitted with a flat tire after getting to the 5th spot. After the tire
change Matt radioed back to David that there was a
vibration and he was concerned about destroying the car at the speeds they
were running, so they returned to the pits to find the broken lower control
arm. It was a great showing for Matt McCall and David Stremme Racing. We all
know equipment failures are part of the equation any time you race but, it
was still a lot of fun to race with the best Super Late Model racers in the
country. Next time they come to your town check out this series as
they are Bad Boys and race some super cars and have a super series.

Matt
was focused on Winning
the Bristol UARA-Stars event and
in doing so would set a
new Track Record with a blistering 15:44 . (Matt's qualifying time would have
put him 10th in the Sprint Cup race at Bristol.) It was all
McCall as he would set a pace that would cause the field to burn-up
tires. We know what the results are from that....BAM!! blown tire
and some wall time. This Tomoe Warrior knows all to well the results from
tire problems at the Bristol Motor Speedway - It will park you for the
night. This night was no different as even the second place car would
get a run on Matt and get by, but it proved to be too much too soon. Matt had
the car dialed-in and on a rail and it was not even close most of the night. The "I Dig
